Ever. Nope. This one was the final straw, I'll never purchase another Creative Labs product again. New Drivers. This card causes random crashes, of all things, in my video drivers, or ethernet drivers. Nope. Nope.
Any comment from Creative at all. Creative's answer. Any fix. Nope. Well, start disabling features on the X-Fi. Creative used to be decent, but they have abandoned any attempt in the past 10 years to put out decent products, or support anything they make.
These problems have been going on for more then two years, and are well documented in their forums. New Firmware.
El sonido que proporciona es muy bueno. Sin duda alguna está entre las mejores tarjetas de sonido, se ve muy elegante, los drivers son fáciles de conseguir. Es bastante recomendable.
I have installed many sound cards and installing it to my comp was fairly ez. One more thing. I tried about 5 hours to get it to work but nothing. Now first thing I noticed was that my comp took a little longer to load and shut down for some reason. I did all I could to make it work but nothing I did would fix the those problems I just mentioned.
But as soon as I was done with the song or game I wouldn't get sound anymore. when I would plug my headphones and mic on the i/o panel, every time I moved my mouse it would make noise. Very disappointed that the card didn't work, hopefully in the future they can make it work. When I put my old sound card back on, it worked the first time I installed it. I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. Third, when I would hear music or play a game (modern warfare 2 or warcraft 3) it would get sound for only the moment that I heard one song or played the game. Am compering this to my audigy 2 sound card for those wondering.
Now I installed the drivers and applications needed to make the card work. I had to restart the comp to get sound again. Hope this review helps. Will be returning this card back. Kinda new at giving reviews so if I sound like a beginner forgive me. Second, the applications for the card didn't seem to see the devices that I Had plug in. It annoyed me so much but when I would plug the headphones directly to the card itself I would not get that sound anymore.
The I/O hub died after 4 days. Apparently, Creative hasn't written any good drivers for Windows 7, and Nvidia based motherboards.
There's a pretty good chance this one will be going back also in the very near future. Reading on the Creative forums, a lot of people are having the same problem that I do.
I hear a lot of snaps, crackles, and pops out of my speakers, that I never got with the motherboard based sound. I've emailed Creative several times so far about these issues, and the nicest thing I can say is that they are less than helpful.
My first X-Fi Titanium was returned to Amazon after less than a week. I have installed the second one, and it works, but there is a lot of noise from the speakers.
Also, while the new I/O hub works, the volume from the headphone jack is so low, that I can barely hear any of it.
or through my sub-$250 Sony receiver. This can be said about running the output through the headset (I did spring for the matching headset, mainly for comfort reasons, cloth ear cups make a huge difference). Not having to switch the output in the software is a very nice touch.I hadn't owned a separate sound card in a few years, and I will not be making the mistake of going back to integrated anytime soon. The only negatives I've found are a slight quirkiness to the control panel software, but after a full uninstall/reinstall of the drivers all was well. Also, the control panel is somewhat complicated and may take a bit to get used to.Those small problems aside, I'd recommend this card to anyone. I found this card severely marked down in a German electronics store. It was the last one they had and I guess they didn't really know what they had.Once I installed it, which was quite simple (about 10-15 minutes for both components), I was amazed at the sound clarity; Music that I've listened to for years upon years sounded so different it was akin to listening to it for the first time. I can imagine this card would sound amazing on a higher quality receiver/speakers, but the quality of the sound on my setup is amazing already.Another plus is the headphone-sensing front panel module.
